Northwest Fire Rescue is happy to announce that not only have we began providing municipal Fire Rescue response for the municipalities of Onoway, Alberta Beach, Southview, Silver Sands, Yellowstone, Castle Island and Nakamun Park; but we have also began protecting Ross Haven as the tenth ORFS protected municipality.

North West Fire Rescue-Onoway is a privately operated fire company with the unique ability to provide front line emergency services. We have qualified staff at the ready:

 

  • NFPA 472 Certified Hazmat Responders

  • ACP Registered EMRs and PCPs Ready to Serve as Required.

  • NFPA 1001 Certified Professional Firefighters Ready for Municipal Response

  • NFPA 1002 Certified Pump Engineers

  • NFPA 1051 & BC S-100 Trained Wildland Firefighters

  • NFPA 1041 Certified Fire Service Instructors Available to Train Local Firefighters

  • NFPA 1021 Certified Fire Service Officers

 

 

North West Fire Rescue-Onoway’s cadre of over 30 emergency services professionals have combined their efforts with local firefighters to help our community in emergency situations. Whether it’s a house fire, wildland fire, vehicle fire, motor vehicle collision, injuries or illness, we will be there to help you out.

 

We have the following equipment available if/when needed:

       (Ideal for structure / exposure protection & hazmat response / standby)

  • Type Three 4WD Fire Engine / Rapid Attack Units

       (Ideal for highway response, structure / exposure protection & wildland / urban interface)

  • Type Six Wildland 4WD Fire Engines

      (Ideal for wildland / urban interface)

 

  • Type Seven ATV Fire Engines

      (Ideal for wildland / urban interface & search / rescue operations)

​

  • Supplied Air Trailers:

      (Ideal for major fire support, technical rescue operations, & hazmat response, & air monitoring)

​

  • Mobile Treatment Centers:

      (Ideal for major operations support, longer term scenes, & training operations)

  • Dedicated Municipal Fire Rescue Engines/Pumpers

      (Tasked with the protection and service of your community)
